Viking Knife

5 Hour class

TIME: 10.00am – 3.00pm

In this 5 hour class, you will forge a one piece Viking knife  or also known as a blacksmith knife. You will forge the blade and handle, then create a profile, forge a rough bevel, and grind it to shape. After heat treating, you will have a working Viking knife.

You will take home your knife and proudly say “I MADE THIS!!!”.

My teaching style is to show you the techniques and then let you go ahead and try it – I am always there to help and guide you but the knife will be yours and made by YOU!

This class requires a lot of hammering and time at the anvil and can be challenging – you need to fit enough to swing a 2lb hammer for a few hours!

The class is limited to 6 students and the cost includes all material fees. Please note that classes are co-ed unless otherwise indicated.

Expect to leave with basic forging skills, heat treating methods, and the knowledge needed to forge hot steel. If you have prior experience this class will help you refresh your skills.

This class will take place in The British Blacksmith forge located at
8477 Pools Brook Road
Kirkville NY 13082

The forge is 20 mins east of Syracuse NY and easy to get to from all locations it is close to I-81 and the New York Thruway I-90.
